Meta charges per delivered message and publishes its rate card in pesos. From October 1, 2026, in Mexico a marketing message costs $0.7298 MXN and a utility, authentication or service message $0.1565 MXN (until September 30, marketing costs $0.5614). You pay it directly to Meta with your own account (WABA), with no middleman markup. Implementation and integration are quoted separately.
Are service messages still free?
Only until September 30, 2026. From October 1, Meta charges service messages —replying to a customer within the 24-hour window— at the same rate as utility: in Mexico, $0.1565 MXN per message. Each business number gets 1,000 free service messages per month, which do not roll over. If your account has no payment method, Meta stops delivering past that allowance. Verified on September 27, 2026 on Meta's WhatsApp pricing page (updated Sep 10, 2026).
How much does the Meta Business Agent (AI) cost?
Since August 1, 2026, Meta's AI agent is charged per token: roughly $2 USD per million tokens, which works out to 4 to 5 US cents per message it handles. It is a separate cost from the per-template fees.
Do I pay iTechDev for the messages?
No. Per-message rates are paid directly to Meta from your own account. iTechDev, as a Meta Tech Provider, charges for implementation, the chatbot and integration — not the messages. That's why there's no markup.
