Odoo implementation, custom modules and migration for Mexican companies
iTechDev is a Mexican software factory founded in 2018, with teams in Monterrey, Guadalajara and Laredo, TX. We do Odoo consulting and implementation, migration from CONTPAQi or Aspel, CFDI 4.0 localization and custom modules: we do not subcontract development — we write it in Python/OWL and the code stays 100% yours.

A single platform: the sale draws down inventory and posts to accounting on its own, and CFDI 4.0 is stamped when the invoice is confirmed.
Illustrative view of a real Odoo flow.
Five packages priced in pesos. Only two of them stamp.
The SAT does not accept "we are mid-implementation". If your company already issues CFDI today —even from CONTPAQi, Aspel or the SAT portal— your floor is Empresa MX. Arranque is for companies that do not yet invoice from an ERP.
SAT (Mexican tax authority)In force since
The SAT replaced the catalogs the Carta Porte complement consumes: transport product and service keys, units, hazardous materials and vehicle configurations. An Odoo left on the previous catalogs does not fail "sometimes": the PAC rejects the stamp and the shipment does not leave the yard.
Current as of July 26, 2026. If the SAT publishes a later change, this page is updated before our commercial proposal is.
The criterion is binary: it stamps or it does not.
If your l10n_mx_edi has not been updated since 2025, you are already having transfers rejected. Checking which version your catalogs are on takes fifteen minutes and we do it in the assessment, whether or not you pay us for the fix.
Carta Porte complement catalogs (SAT) ↗How it is configured, step by stepCarta Porte 3.1 from $19,900
Odoo Starter — $29,900
Does not invoice: no CFDI 4.0, no accounting, no data migration. If you already invoice, this is not your package: start at Empresa MX.
CRM, sales, purchasing and inventory configured for one business line, with your catalog loaded and your team trained. To leave spreadsheets behind before tackling the tax side.
Empresa MX — $89,000
Stamps CFDI 4.0 with your PAC. No stamped payroll, no Carta Porte, no POS.
Everything in Starter plus the full tax side: CFDI 4.0 stamping with your PAC, payment complement, DIOT and electronic accounting. The SMB already invoicing that needs Odoo stamping correctly from day one.
Comercio MX — $139,000
Stamps CFDI 4.0 and POS global invoicing. No stamped payroll and no Carta Porte.
Everything in Empresa MX plus point of sale with global invoice and self-invoicing, e-commerce with a payment gateway and one marketplace connector. For those selling in store and online who need to invoice both.
What no package includes
- Stamped payroll — from $45,000
- Per-client addendas — $12,000 to $18,000
- Carta Porte 3.1 — from $19,900
- Historical data migration — quoted
- The Odoo license — you pay Odoo directly
Your operation does not fit any of them? The technical analysis costs MXN $7,500, you get a closed budget in writing even if you decide not to implement with us, and it is credited if you move forward.
What we do not do
Four things others will offer you and we will not. We tell you before the call.
We do not re-stamp already-issued invoices
The SAT does not allow re-stamping a CFDI: it is cancelled and a new one is issued to replace it. If someone offers to fix old invoices, they cannot deliver it.
Carta Porte for road transport only
Odoo covers the Carta Porte 3.1 complement for road transfers, type T. Sea, air and rail require development: quoted separately, from $19,900, and included in no package.
Payroll ships in no edition of Odoo
Neither Community nor Enterprise includes stamped payroll for Mexico. Anyone including it out of the box is quoting something Odoo does not have.
Sometimes the answer is a new PAC, not a new ERP
If your PAC is not among those your deployment accepts, switching PAC is usually the right answer: cheaper and faster than forcing development. We say so even when it means a smaller project for us.
And sometimes the answer is SAP, not Odoo
We are a partner of the SAP ecosystem (PartnerEdge) and we also implement Odoo. If your headquarters already runs SAP, the right answer is SAP Business One — and we will tell you so even though the Odoo project would leave us a better margin.
And one more, an uncomfortable one: we still do not have our own Odoo case with publishable metrics. What you can see is our own Odoo 19 running in production —iTech sales, projects, hours and invoicing. We are not going to invent a client number for you.
We run all of iTech on Odoo 19: sales, projects, timesheets and invoicing.

MTY · GDL · TXOdoo consulting and implementation in Mexico, explained plainly
Odoo is an open-source, modular ERP that integrates CRM, sales, inventory, accounting, manufacturing and more in a single platform —what is invoiced in sales draws down inventory and posts to accounting with no double entry—. In Mexico the challenge is not Odoo: it is localization (CFDI 4.0, DIOT, Carta Porte) and making sure the custom development is truly yours. As an Odoo Ready partner, at iTechDev we handle the implementation, the migration from CONTPAQi, Aspel or SAP, the Mexican localization and in-house module development. Before signing anything, check which Odoo version you need: the tier you pick decides whether you can keep your current PAC or invoice with addendas. And if what you want is the number, our pricing is published.
Unlike a consultancy that configures and subcontracts, here the code is 100% yours: it is the same engineering behind our software factory, applied to your ERP, with local support and CFDI invoicing in MXN. If you are weighing options, start with our complete guide to Odoo in Mexico.
When Odoo with iTechDev is the right call
Five real situations for Mexican companies. Each one is solved with the same software factory, Mexican localization and code you own.
You drop CONTPAQi or Aspel for a single ERP
Sales, inventory and accounting live in separate systems and everything is re-keyed. We migrate catalogs, balances and history into a single Odoo, with reconciliation reports before go-live.
See how we solve itYou escape the cost of SAP without losing capability
You pay per-user licenses and maintenance you barely leverage. With Odoo the license cost disappears on Community, and on Enterprise you pay Odoo, not us — and the custom code is yours. Exactly how much you save comes out of comparing your modules in the fit-gap, not from a brochure percentage.
See how we solve itManufacturing or distribution that exports to the US
Your US customer demands traceability and compliance. We implement MRP and WMS with lot and serial-number control, with a bilingual team in your time zone that talks to your customer.
See how we solve itCarta Porte 3.1 is holding up your shipments
SAT rejections stall your transfers. We configure the Carta Porte 3.1 complement for road transport (type T) with field validation, so it stamps on confirmation and bounces stop.
See how we solve itYour Odoo is broken or has no partner
The partner vanished and you were left with an Odoo nobody maintains. The good news: the code is yours. We audit it, stabilize it and leave it with AMS support and a defined SLA.
See how we solve itIf your case looks like any of these, the assessment gives you scope, an edition decision and a fixed budget — no commitment.
Tell us your caseWhy Odoo with a software factory?
Not all Odoo providers are the same. There are three profiles in the market, and we tell you honestly where we stand and why it matters when you need more than configuration.
Configures and subcontracts the development
Many consultancies configure Odoo well, but when you need a real module they subcontract the code to a third party. The knowledge lives outside, timelines stretch, and every change goes through a middleman.
The development is not theirsMay disappear and leave you a black box
A solo developer or a small partner solves it cheaply today, but if they disappear you are left with no support, no documentation and an Odoo nobody else understands. The initial saving becomes a risk.
Risk of being left aloneSoftware factory (us)
We build the modules in-house in Python/OWL, with code that is 100% yours, CMMI Level 2 processes, a fixed budget and AMS support with an SLA. What others outsource, we fabricate — and document.
The code and the knowledge stay with youPeople say Odoo "depends on the local developer", "hides costs" or "is hard to standardize". With a software factory behind it, none of that applies: the code is yours and documented, the budget is fixed and closed after the assessment, and CMMI Level 2 processes standardize every delivery.
Odoo vs SAP Business One, honestly compared
We implement both, so we have no reason to inflate one. These are the criteria that actually move the decision.
| Criteria | Odoo (with iTechDev) | SAP Business One |
|---|---|---|
| Total cost (TCO) over 3 years | No per-user license on Community; on Enterprise you pay Odoo, not us | Per-user licenses + annual maintenance |
| Per-user license | No in Community; optional in Enterprise | Yes, per named user |
| Mexican localization (CFDI 4.0, DIOT, Carta Porte) | Yes — l10n_mx + custom module + authorized PAC | Yes — via localization add-on / partner |
| Flexibility and code access | Open source; custom modules with code 100% yours | Proprietary; customization via SDK, vendor code |
| Vendor lock-in | Low — code and data are yours | Higher — you depend on licenses and the SAP ecosystem |
| Ecosystem and maturity | Broad OCA ecosystem + active global community | Mature, highly consolidated enterprise ecosystem |
| Community vs Enterprise | Community license-free; Enterprise adds official accounting, studio and apps | Single paid edition, licensed per user |
| Ideal for… | SMBs and mid-market that want flexibility and cost control | Companies with an SAP headquarters or SAP corporate processes |
iTechDev implements both Odoo and SAP (including SAP Business One): this comparison is not meant to disqualify SAP, but to help you choose with data. SAP Business One is the right choice when your headquarters already runs SAP or your processes require it; Odoo usually wins on flexibility and code ownership. We do not publish a savings percentage: the real number comes out of the fit-gap with your modules and volumes, and we hand it to you in writing.

Contact us →Who implements Odoo in Mexico, and what should you verify before hiring?
Odoo's official directory lists 156 partners in Mexico: 11 at Gold level, 42 at Silver and 103 at Ready (checked 26 July 2026, odoo.com/es/partners/country/mexico-150). iTechDev appears there as ITECHDEV MX, Ready level. Check any provider's level on that page before believing a badge published on their own site, and ask for three things in writing: which package stamps CFDI 4.0 and which does not, who writes the custom modules —your provider or a third party— and who owns the code when it is done.
Who implements Odoo manufacturing and MRP in Mexico?
iTechDev implements Odoo Manufacturing (mrp) and Quality with multi-level bills of materials, routings and work centers, tablet work orders and lot and serial traceability in Inventory. It fits in Empresa MX ($89,000) only if your operation fits the package's 10 users and 500 products; if you need finite capacity planning or subcontracted manufacturing, that is custom development and is quoted after the $7,500 technical analysis. We do not implement MES or SCADA.
How much does it cost to implement Odoo in Mexico?
Five published prices, in pesos, plus VAT, ordered by a question almost nobody asks: who answers when the SAT changes the rules. Arranque $29,900 (2-3 weeks): CRM, sales, purchasing and inventory; it does not stamp CFDI, on purpose, and you keep invoicing where you invoice today. Fiscal Esencial $44,900 (3-4 weeks): stamps full CFDI 4.0, with no electronic accounting or DIOT because RMF rule 2.8.1.17 exempts RESICO taxpayers and individuals below $4,000,000 from FILING them —not from keeping accounts—; it is sold against your Constancia de Situación Fiscal, and if it does not prove the regime you do not qualify. Empresa MX $89,000 (4-6 weeks): for companies under the general regime or Title IV individuals from $4,000,000, that is, those who are required to file electronic accounting and DIOT. Empresa MX · Odoo.sh $98,000 (5-7 weeks): the same plus what Odoo Online does not allow —addendas, your own PAC, payroll—; the premium is 16 real hours of repository, branches and a stamping test. Comercio MX $139,000 (6-8 weeks): adds POS with global invoicing, e-commerce and one marketplace connector. These go separately because they do not fit in a package: stamped payroll from $45,000 —Odoo does not ship it in any edition, neither Community nor Enterprise— and Carta Porte 3.1 from $19,900. You pay the Odoo license directly to Odoo; we do not resell it. If your operation fits none of them, the technical analysis costs $7,500 and is credited if you move forward. What we do not do is reopen a closed price mid-project.
Odoo Community or Enterprise?
Community is open source with no license cost and covers most operational needs with OCA modules and tailored development. Enterprise (paid) adds official Mexico accounting, e-signatures, a low-code studio, mobile apps and direct support from Odoo S.A. We advise without bias: the decision depends on your volume, required modules and budget.
Why "Odoo Ready" and not "Gold" or "Silver"?
Odoo Ready honestly states what we are: a firm that implements, customizes, migrates and integrates on Odoo and develops custom modules in Python/OWL. Odoo's "Silver/Gold" tiers depend on the volume of Enterprise subscriptions a partner resells each year — that is a commercial model, not a measure of technical capability. We prefer to compete on engineering (code 100% yours, CMMI Level 2, 200+ projects, 5.0★ Clutch) and not inflate a partner level that does not define us. We work on Community and Enterprise without license bias.
Odoo or SAP Business One?
We implement both, and we charge similarly for both, so the recommendation does not depend on which suits us. SAP Business One is the right choice when your headquarters already runs SAP or your corporate processes require it. Odoo usually wins on flexibility and code ownership, because it is open source and the custom code stays 100% yours. What we will not do is give you an invented savings percentage: that number comes from comparing your case, module by module, in the fit-gap.
Can you migrate from CONTPAQi, Aspel or SAP Business One?
Yes. We run ETL from SAP Business One, Dynamics, CONTPAQi, Aspel and AdminPAQ: we export catalogs, balances and history, and configure Odoo to operate from day one, with reconciliation reports prior to go-live.
Does Odoo stamp CFDI 4.0 directly?
Yes. With the l10n_mx localization plus a custom module connected to an authorized PAC (Factura.com or Finkok), Odoo stamps the CFDI 4.0 automatically when the invoice is confirmed, without going through the SAT portal.
Does Odoo comply with the Carta Porte 3.1 complement?
Yes, for road-transport transfers (type T). With the l10n_mx localization and a custom module connected to the PAC, Odoo generates and stamps the Carta Porte 3.1 complement when the transfer is confirmed, with field validation to avoid SAT rejections. The complement applies to ground transport of the Transfer type; air, maritime and rail modes have different rules that we evaluate case by case.
Is the custom development really in-house?
Yes, and it is our differentiator. Unlike consultancies that configure Odoo and subcontract the development, we are the software factory: our team builds the Python/OWL modules, with CMMI Level 2 processes, a fixed budget and code that is 100% your property, delivered with repository and documentation. No black box, no dependency on a third party.
Where is Odoo hosted and between which versions do you migrate?
We host it on Odoo.sh (Odoo managed hosting) or on your own infrastructure with Docker, depending on your case. We work on Odoo 18 and 19, and perform version migrations by adapting the custom modules and validating the data.
