What it costs to build custom software — and how we give you a real number

Custom software is bespoke: the price depends on scope, so we do not sell you "closed-price packages". We give you something more honest: the base rate, reference ranges per project type, and a Blueprint that fixes your exact number in writing.

The only closed price: the Blueprint

One to two weeks of analysis that end in a defined deliverable: technical roadmap, architecture, a closed budget in writing and a dated timeline. That is why it has a fixed price — it is what produces your number. And it is yours even if you decide to build with someone else; if you move forward with us, it is 100% credited to the project.

For anyone who needs certainty and a number to defend to their board before committing to a large project.

Reference budget ranges per project type

To place the order of magnitude of your project. These are market reference ranges, not a closed quote: your real number comes from the Blueprint.

Base rate $600 MXN/hourand it drops with the volume of hours in your project: the bigger the hours commitment, the better the rate. The exact tiers are fixed in the Blueprint, based on project size.

What actually moves the price

If someone gives you a closed number without asking about these, they are making it up.

Why do you not publish a closed price like for Odoo?

Because custom software is bespoke: every project is different and the cost depends 100% on scope. Publishing "fixed-price packages" for something not yet defined would be faking a number. What we do give you is the base rate ($600 MXN/hour), reference ranges per project type, and the Blueprint, which fixes your exact number in writing.

How much does an hour of software development cost?

Our base rate is $600 MXN/hour, and it drops with the volume of hours in the project: the bigger the hours commitment, the better the rate. The exact rate is fixed in the Blueprint based on project size. It is the same base rate our Odoo packages are derived from, so there is no contradiction between the two pages.

So are the ranges ($50,000–$200,000 and so on) my price?

No. They are reference ranges so you can place the order of magnitude of your project type, calibrated against projects we have delivered. Your real price depends on scope and is fixed in writing in the Blueprint. No serious partner gives you a closed number without seeing your scope first.

What is the Blueprint and why does it have a fixed price?

It is one to two weeks of analysis that produce a defined deliverable: technical roadmap, architecture, a closed budget in writing and a timeline. That is why it is a fixed-price product ($25,000–$45,000 MXN). And it is 100% creditable: if you move forward with the project, it is discounted.

Is the project budget fixed or hourly?

We work by the hour on the base rate, but once the Blueprint closes the scope, we hand you a fixed budget in writing for that scope. If scope changes, we quote it separately and you know beforehand, not mid-project.

Do I own the code and do you invoice with CFDI?

Yes to both. All code, documentation, access and environments are yours from the first commit, with no vendor lock-in. We invoice in Mexican pesos, plus VAT, with CFDI. We have an entity in Mexico (Monterrey and Guadalajara) and in Laredo, TX so you can contract in USD if you need to.
