eCommerce with Odoo in Mexico
An online store on the same inventory and catalogue you already use. The advantage is not having a site: it is to stop selling what you no longer have and stop reconciling two catalogues.
How does Odoo eCommerce work?
iTechDev implements Odoo eCommerce, and the reason a client picks it is almost never the store design: it is not having two catalogues.
- Online storeThe sales site running on the ERP’s own catalogue and inventory, with no syncing.
- Payment gatewayThe provider that charges card or transfer. It changes fees and settlement times.
- Global invoiceThe period CFDI covering general-public sales that did not request an invoice.
- Self-invoicingThe flow where a customer who wants a CFDI generates it themselves from their receipt.
- MarketplaceAlso selling on third-party platforms. Each connector is its own project, not a checkbox.
See in detail
Odoo ships the store inside the same system, so the product you publish is the same record you purchase, stock and invoice, and the stock a buyer sees is real stock. That removes the work of reconciling platform against ERP — where half the effort of running a store on separate systems goes — and stops you selling what already sold out at the counter. What deserves open eyes is the Mexican fiscal side, which differs online: much of your sales will be to the general public, so you need the period global invoice and a self-invoicing flow for the customer who does want their CFDI. And if your operation is large-catalogue with marketplaces, the project grows and is better phased than promised all at once.
Six operational reasons, zero adjectives
The code is yours from day one
Repos in your name, documented CI/CD and zero vendor lock-in. If you leave tomorrow, you take it all, running.
WhatsApp API with an official provider
We are a Meta Tech Provider: your WhatsApp Business API line with no middlemen, and chatbots wired to your ERP.
Sprint delivery you can click
A working demo every two weeks and measurable progress. No "it’s 80% done" without something you can click.
AI applied to your operation
LLM agents, RAG over your data and process automation — the same practice we use to run iTech itself.
Real nearshore: Texas + Monterrey
Legal entity in the U.S. (iTech Corp, Texas), contracts under U.S. law, same CST time zone and USMCA.
ERP with CFDI 4.0 invoicing
We implement Odoo with integrated SAT stamping (PAC), client portal and reconciliation — a full operation, not just software.
When this module solves something
What the module includes
Shared catalogue
Same product, price and stock as the rest of the ERP. No syncing, no reconciliation.
Site and store
Pages, categories and search editable without a developer for every change.
Payment gateways
Card or transfer depending on the provider, with the sale recorded at that moment.
Pricing rules and promotions
Discounts, coupons and segment pricing, using the same lists your sales team uses.
Shipping
Cost calculation and warehouse delivery generated from the same order.
Global invoice and self-invoicing
The fiscal circuit for general-public sales, which is what distinguishes a store in Mexico.
Abandoned carts
Email recovery for those who reached checkout and did not finish.
Buyer portal
Order history, tracking and documents with no internal user or licence.
Decisions to make before configuring
1Which gateway?
It changes fees, settlement time and payment experience. Decided first because it conditions collection flow and bank reconciliation.
2How you invoice the general public
Period global invoice, self-invoicing, or both. The fiscal decision specific to the online channel; agreed with your accountant.
3Which warehouse serves it
Whether the store draws from the same stock as the counter or a reserved one. It defines whether you can sell what is already allocated.
4How large the catalogue is
Publishing two thousand products with images, descriptions and attributes is data loading, not configuration. Sized separately.
5Marketplaces?
Each connector is a project with its own scope. Quoted separately and done after your own store is stable.
6Who maintains the content
Someone has to upload products and tend the site. Without that, the store ages in three months.
Tech stack
The tools and platforms we build it with — chosen for your problem, not for hype.
Questions about eCommerce in Odoo

Contact us →Is eCommerce in Community?
The store and website are in Community. What usually pushes companies to Enterprise is not selling online but the official Mexican accounting your sales must reconcile with.
Does it share inventory with my physical store?
Yes, and that is the main reason to choose it. Point of sale, counter and online store draw from the same stock, so you stop selling what you no longer have. Design must define which warehouse serves each channel — configuration, not development.
How do I invoice someone who buys online?
Two circuits coexist: the period global invoice for general-public sales with no CFDI requested, and self-invoicing for those who want one and generate it from their receipt. It is the part that distinguishes a Mexican store, and it belongs with your accountant before opening, not after the first month.
Does it work for large catalogues?
Technically yes. What grows is not configuration but data loading: images, descriptions, attributes and variants per product. That is why we size it apart from the store project — it is content work and is quoted as such.
Can I also sell on marketplaces?
It can be connected, but each marketplace is a project with its own scope and maintenance. We recommend stabilising your own store first and adding marketplaces in a second phase, quoted separately. Promising them together is among the things that most stretch a go-live.
What does it cost and how long?
It depends on the gateway, catalogue size and whether marketplaces are in, and those three move the number more than the module. The real range comes out of the technical analysis — and if someone quotes it without asking how many products you have, be wary.
