ODOO · ERP MODULES

Odoo modules, translated into your operation

Odoo is modular: you enable only what you need and each module talks to the others with no double entry. Here are the twelve most requested in plain terms —what each does, who it is for and the "catch" almost nobody tells you— with their edition marked.

Odoo CRM

CRM

Community

Organizes your leads and the sales pipeline.

For whom: Management and the sales team.

Captures leads, funnel stages, activities, emails and forecast — all in one view.

Odoo Ventas

Ventas

Community

Quote and turn into sales orders.

For whom: Sales and customer service.

Quotations, customer portal, e-signature and a direct handoff to invoicing.

Odoo Compras

Compras

Community

Control purchase orders and vendors.

For whom: Purchasing and warehouse.

RFQs, reordering rules and receipt against the order.

Odoo Inventario

Inventario

Community

Track your stock by location in real time.

For whom: Warehouse and operations.

Receipts, deliveries, transfers, lots and serial numbers with traceability.

CatchInventory is not a full WMS: stock control yes; picking waves, slotting and advanced RF are development.

Odoo Contabilidad

Contabilidad

Enterprise

Official accounting and SAT reports.

For whom: Accountant and management.

Journal entries, bank reconciliation, DIOT, trial balance and the SAT grouping chart of accounts.

CatchFull official Mexican accounting is Enterprise: Community ships the chart of accounts (l10n_mx), not the electronic reports.

CFDI 4.0

MX module

Stamp CFDI 4.0 from the ERP itself.

For whom: Accountant and billing.

Income, expense, payment and transfer with your PAC, payment complement and cancellation with acknowledgment.

CatchNative stamping (l10n_mx_edi) is Enterprise; on Community it is a custom module plus a maintenance contract — not out of the box.

See CFDI 4.0 localization
Odoo Manufactura (MRP)

Manufactura (MRP)

Community

Produce with bills of materials and orders.

For whom: Production and planning.

Multi-level BOMs, routings, work centers, tablet work orders and lot traceability.

CatchMRP is not PLM or MES/SCADA: it plans production, it does not do product engineering or shop-floor control.

Odoo Punto de venta (POS)

Punto de venta (POS)

Community

Sell on the floor with a register and hardware.

For whom: Retail and counter.

Touch register, store hardware, global invoicing and self-invoicing, synced with inventory.

Odoo Proyectos

Proyectos

Community

Tasks, time and profitability per project.

For whom: Professional services and teams.

Tasks, timesheets, hourly billing and per-project margins. It is the module we run iTech on.

Nómina

Add-on

Compute and stamp payroll receipts.

For whom: Human Resources.

Earnings, deductions, ISR and IMSS, with the SAT payroll complement.

CatchStamped Mexican payroll ships in no edition, neither Community nor Enterprise: it is an add-on/development. It is Odoo's #1 gap in Mexico.

Odoo eCommerce

eCommerce

Community

Online store integrated with the ERP.

For whom: Retail and online sales.

Catalog, cart, payment gateway and stock shared with inventory — no double entry.

Odoo Gastos

Gastos

Community

Team expense reports, approved.

For whom: Operations and finance.

Mobile capture, an approval flow and reimbursement tied to accounting.

Which module needs a paid edition (or development)?

Community covers a great deal out of the box. This is what Mexico requires Enterprise or development for — the table that decides your budget.

From modules to a working OdooKnowing which modules exist is half of it; the other half is getting them to run with your data, your roles and your Mexican localization. That is implementation, and it starts with the technical analysis. See phased Implementation →
PROOF OF COMPETENCE

We run them, we do not just explain them

We run iTech on Odoo 19: CRM, Sales, Projects, Inventory and invoicing. When we tell you what a module does, we mean the one we use every day, not the datasheet on Odoo's site.

How many modules does Odoo have and which do I need?

Odoo has dozens of modules, but an SMB starts with five or six: CRM, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory and Accounting, adding Manufacturing, POS, Projects or eCommerce depending on the business. You do not enable them all "just in case": in the analysis we define the minimum viable to operate and what gets added in phases.

Which modules are Community and which need Enterprise?

CRM, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Manufacturing (MRP), POS, Projects, eCommerce and Expenses are in Community. Full official Mexican accounting and native CFDI 4.0 stamping (l10n_mx_edi) are Enterprise; on Community stamping is solved with a custom module. Stamped payroll ships in no edition: it is an add-on.

Does Odoo have payroll for Mexico?

Not out of the box. No Odoo edition —neither Community nor Enterprise— includes stamped Mexican payroll with its SAT complement. It is an add-on or development, and it is Odoo's most important gap in Mexico. Anyone including it "as standard" is quoting something Odoo does not ship.

Does the inventory module work as a WMS?

For stock control by location, lots and serials, yes. For advanced warehouse management —picking waves, slotting, RF at scale— standard Odoo falls short and that is development. In the analysis we tell you whether your operation fits the standard or needs extending.
